Research

Thrust areas for Research include: Normative Research, Clinical Rehabilitation, Clinical Biomechanics and Women’s Health. Various projects relevant to national health care needs are ongoing in areas of musculoskeletal, neurological, cardio-pulmonary and community Physiotherapy.

Five major ongoing projects include:

  • Development of reference ranges for Indian population for application in health care in neuro-musculoskeletal discipline.
  • Hand function in healthy Indian population and children with neuromuscular disorders.
  • Physiotherapy services for children with neuro-musculoskeletal disorders in rural community in collaboration with Department of Pediatrics and Department of Hospital Management. (pre proposal accepted by ICMR) 
  • Influence of socio-cultural factors on practice, compliance & outcome of Postpartum Physiotherapy in collaboration with Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.   
  • Identification of health markers for cardiopulmonary and musculoskeletal fitness for design of framing interventional fitness program.
