Biography

Educational qualification:

I completed my graduation from Seth.GS Medical College, Mumbai affiliated to the Bombay University with a ranked position. I completed my Masters in Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physiotherapy from LTMMC, Mumbai in 1992 again with a University rank.

Experience:

I have been working in the profession for 18 years in a variety of setups which include private clinics, hospitals and teaching institutes. I have 9 years of teaching experience which included teaching graduate and post graduate students.

Research Interest:

  • Focus of research is in the field of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.
  • Development of a fitness battery which will be applicable to all age groups and relevant to the Indian lifestyle is a primary component of our teams’ research activities.
  • Application of fitness testing in patients suffering from chronic ailments like musculoskeletal problems, neurological diseases and cardiopulmonary is a part of our ongoing projects.
  • Utilisation of respiratory muscle strengthening in Parkinson's patients is also a part of our research activity.

Educational qualification:

Completed my Bachelor’s degree (B.P.Th) from Seth G.S. Medical College (2001-06) and Master’s degree (M.P.Th) from L.T.M.M.C & L.T.M.G (2006-09) both under Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik.

Experience:

I have clinical experience of 1 year and teaching experience of 4 years.

Research Interest:

  • Focus of research is in the field of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation & Health Promotion.
  • To develop a fitness test battery which will be applicable to all age groups and relevant to the Indian lifestyle, being a primary component of our research activities.
  • Application of fitness testing in patients suffering from chronic ailments like musculoskeletal problems, neurological diseases and cardiopulmonary is a part of the ongoing projects.

Educational qualification:

I have completed my under graduation(2006-2011)from Lokmanya Tilak Muncipal Medical College and hospital, Mumbai under Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik and Post graduation from MGM University of Health Sciences , Navi Mumbai (2011-2013)

Experience:

I have clinical experience of 7 months and a teaching experience of more than 2 months.

Research Interest: 

  • Focus of interest in the field of Cardio pulmonary rehabilitation. Special interest in assessing cardio-respiratory six minute walk test and incremental shuttle walk test and its application in clinical purpose.
  • Poster presented in “Colloquium on Exercise Science and Health Promotion” by Dr Monal Shah (PT) under the guidance of Dr Bela Agarwal at  Manipal in September 2013.
