Objectives:

Students, clinicians and professionals with BSc in Health science and/or Engineering or related field relevant to the area of Clinical Kinesiology can apply

Past Workshops

  • A scientific inter-active sensitization programme was organized for 9 masters’students, 4 interns and 8staff members on 20th Jan 2017 at MGM Centre of Human Movement Science to introduce and sensitize them on research avenues in most recent area of clinical rehabilitation: namely virtual reality. Researchers from Swissnex India, Bangalore Dr Caecilia Charbonnier and Dr Balz Strasser were invited for the interactive session.
  • Basic procedures & clinical application of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation Seminar was conducted on 27/12/2016 at MGM Hospital, Kamothe, Navi Mumbai.
  • Basic course in Clinical Biomechanics was conducted by Dr Rajani Mullerpatan & CHMS team  on 26-28th February 2016 at MGM Centre of Human Movement Sciences
  • Advanced Course in Clinical Biomechanics was conducted on 1st -3rd April 2016 at MGM Centre of Human Movement Sciences. Prof Robert Van Duersen, Dr Andrea Hemmerich, Dr Bela Agarwal, Prof Ravi and Dr Rajani Mullerpatan were the chief resource persons.

 

  • Seminar on ‘A day exploring Movement Analysis’ was organized  at MGM Centre of Human Movement Sciences on 29th May 2016 for interns of MGM SOP.
  • Seminar on ‘A day exploring Movement Analysis was organized  at MGM Centre of Human Movement Sciences on 4th September 2016 for interns of MGM SOP.
  • Prof. Margareta Nordin, Vice President, World Spine Care and Professor  (Research) New York University, USA delivered an Oration entitled, “Evidence for effective treatment of Low Back Pain and transfer of knowledge to different cultures” on 3rd March 2015.  

 

  • Honorary speakers Mr. Nelson Stovar, President of Emerging Ecology and Prof. Lavon Williams, Head of Department of Sports Sciences at Guildford College were invited by MGM School of Physiotherapy, Navi Mumbai to present a seminar on ‘Sports Psychology’ on 19th January 2015. 
  • Cardio Pulmonary Department had organized a Hands on Workshop on ‘Chest PT &Exercise  testing&  training in Pediatrics’at  GDBP CON XIII- Pediatric Conference 2014 on 5th Dec’14. 
  • Neuro Physiotherapy Department had organized a Hands on Workshop on Management of Cerebral Palsy- A multidisciplinary approach atGDBP CON XIII- Pediatric Conference 2014 on 5th Dec’14.
  • Two day hands-on workshop on ‘Cardiopulmonary Assessment and Exercise Training’ was organized by Cardio Pulmonary Department for interns and post-graduate students to facilitate and enhance skills in Cardiopulmonary assessment, fitness testing and cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation 21st and 22nd March 2014. 

  • Workshop on Abdominal Capsule: Physiotherapeutic Approach in Women’s Health was organized  by Community Physiotherapy Department on 8th  March 2014 to understand extent of Physiotherapy approach in women’s health and improve treatment guideline for betterment of patient.
  • MGM School of Physiotherapy, Navi Mumbai invited Mr. Ratish Karna, B.Sc OT,OTR,CHT(USA) from  Princess Margaret Hospital, Nassau, Bahamas for conducting a  lecture  on Current Trends in Hand Therapy for MPTh I & MPTh II students on 16th August 2013.
  • As part of silver jubilee celebrations of MGM Medical Colleges, MGM  School of Physiotherapy , Navi Mumbai organized an international symposium in “Clinical and Research Update in Musculoskeletal Pain” in collaboration with Physiotherapy team from University of Sydney, Australia comprising o fDr.Andrew Leaver,Dr.Katherine Refshauge, Dr. Niamh in November 2013
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Physiotherapy department of MGM SOP organized a workshop on ‘Physiotherapy in Intensive Care Unit on 5th-6th April 2013.
  • Seminar on Physiotherapy education: Evaluation of training and assessment’ was organized on April 2013. Dr. Maria Jiandani(PT)- Associate Professor, Institute’s University Department of Physiotherapy, KEM Hospital, Dr. Subhash Khatri –Principal, Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam College of Physiotherapy, Pravara  were the invited speakers for the same.
  • In addition to the workshops mentionaed above, an Annual meeting at MGMCHMS to sensitize staff members and build inter-disciplinary research capacity was held within MGM SOP i.e. with MGM College of Engineering on 10th October 2016.
