This full time Master Degree program of two years duration focuses on gaining advanced knowledge and exclusive skills in Physiotherapeutic specialty subjects. This course offers four clinical specialties and emphasizes on self learning by hands on. The course also emphasizes on self learning.

Eligibility for admission/ selection process 

  • The candidates should hold a B.P.T.or equivalent degree from an IAP recognized Institute.
  • The candidates should have completed internship successfully.  
  • Should have passed the Common Entrance Test held by the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Health Sciences, with minimum 50% marks.

Pattern for MGM CET MPT- 2016

  • MGM CET MPT- 2016 paper will be of 2 hours duration containing 100 multiple choice questions (MCQs).
  • Each question will be of single best response objective type with four answer options. 
  • Each correct response shall be awarded one mark. 
  • There shall be NO NEGATIVE MARKING for wrong answers. 
  • Candidate should completely darken one and the only one best response (oval) on the OMR answer sheet. 
  • All questions are compulsory.

 Highlights of training at MGM Institute's University Department of Physiotherapy

  • The course pattern includes four semesters. Semester I, includes Biomedical statistics & Research methodology, Teaching technology, Principles of Ethics/Administration & Management in clinical practice, which will be common to all candidates irrespective of their specialty. There will be a college examination at the end of Semester-I based on above mentioned topics. 
  • Semester II to IV will  focus on exclusive  training in respective specialty , so that at the end of the respective course the student will develop an ability to give  expert clinical reasoning and will  be able to function as  a consultant as well as expert clinician  in the respective specialty. 
  • Clinical “Hands on Training” will focus on rotational clinical assignments in respective specialty subject throughout the course. In addition to the didactic /laboratory  and clinical “hands on” training, the course shall also include seminars, case presentations, journal article reading  and appraisal and administrative work under the supervision of faculty members. 
  • During this course the candidate shall prepare and& submit the protocol of dissertation based on selected specialty during Semester-I and will be required to submit completed research manuscript before end of Semester IV.    
  • University examination shall be conducted at the end of Semester IV.

Outline of M.P.T. curriculum

The course has four semesters. 

Semester – I: Topics like Administration and management, Ethics, teaching technology and research methodology are included in this semester. This semester is common for all four specialties. 

Semester – II:   This semester includes teaching training in the relevant aspect of each allied and applied subject according to the respective specialties. 

Semester – III:   This semester includes topics related to recent advances in evaluation and management according to the respective specialties.

Semester – IV:   This semester is exclusively based on the elective subject opted by the student
